This Faber remote and receiver arrived safely with batteries inserted.  On testing there was no function from either up or down channel.  When inspected it was noticed that the battery compartment in the receiver was showing signs of battery leakage.  Most of the terminals were corroded.

A replacement battery compartment was fitted and full functionality was restored.  It is highly recommended to only fit "guaranteed not to leak" batteries such as Duracell in these devices as they do suffer greatly from acid corrosion.
