Customer's Fault Description
Although I've had the Variodac for many years it is only in the last six months or so that I've been using it regularly. Suddenly the remote has stopped working (all buttons) following a short period when it responded intermittently.

 

This Micromega remote arrived safely and on first inspection the battery terminals were showing signs of a leakage.  On testing the handset there was no infra red signal being emmited at all on any button press.

On opening the controller there were signs of a spillage on the pcb around the main I.C. this had started to corrode parts of the print.  The spilage was cleaned up and the print reworked, full functionality was restored.
