Customer's Fault Description
Replaced battery and although red light shows. Hand set will not open the garage door from outside. However, the button that controls the inside movement of the door will operate and open.
This Garage door remote arrived safely with a battery inserted. On testing it was found to be illuminating the LED but was not transmitting a signal.
On opening the device the problem became clear. The ferrite core that is normally situated inside the RF coil had become lose and was half hanging out of the coil. This was reset and full functionality was restored.
