Mertik Maxitrol G30-ZRRS Remote Repair Details
This remote and receiver arrived safely. On first inspection it was revealed that the battery compartment of the receiver had signs of corrosion from a leakage.
The battery compartment was replaced and a power source then added for testing. The receiver showed intermittent functionality on one of the channels but the other channel was not functioning at all. This is usually a problem with the crystals, these were replaced and the issue dissapeared temporarily. After testing over a period of days it was noticed that from cold the receiver still had issues.
A few dry joints were resoldered and the ultrasonic transducer was relaced and again functionality was restored, due to the cold issue the items were tested over a peiod of 2 weeks but as the days got colder the issue with the faulty channel would reappear, this was concluded to be a problem with one of the main i.c.s which are sadly not available therefore this repair has not been possible.
