Customer's Fault Description
LCD temperature display no longer displays and the buttons no longer respond.

 

This handset arrived safely and on adding a power source was confirmed to be dead.

The main problem was caused by a faulty battery cable and also some contamination around the power lead solder joints which leads me to believe that at some point it has had a battery leakage that had corroded the cable internally.

A replacement lead was fitted and the controller powered up and transmitted as expected.  On of the cells in the display was found to be faulty but doesnt effect functionality, this was mentioned to the customer and is ok as is.
