Customer's Fault Description
IR signal not being sent from any of the 3 ir led's: battery shows 9v no obvious damage: buttons buttons sending 4.95v through circuits, continuity tests for live and earth at various poimts on the board prove positive
This GTech brake tester remote arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to not be sending out a infrared signal on any button press.
A component test was carried out and the culprit was found to be the 40khz crystal oscillator. A replacement was fitted and full functionality was restored.
