Customer's Fault Description
Thin black wire connecting to the battery pad has snapped, breaking the circuit. Remote also missing the back.
This fireplace controller arrived poorly packaged with holes in the paper parcel, luckily the remote was found inside the package, it is always advised to send parcels in padded envelopes as remotes do go missing when just shipped in paper envelopes). The battery cover was confirmed to be missing (this cannot be replaced as spare backs are not available and we do not repair cosmetic problems)
The battery terminal was confirmed to have a faulty lead, a replacement cable and clip was fitted and full functionality was restored.
