Customer's Fault Description
Fire not responding to handset, either up or down. Both handset and receiver checked using new batteries. Light on handset works for both up and down buttons. Light on receiver flashes briefly once when batteries installed but no light shows when handset buttons pressed.

 

This remote and receiver arrived safely, on testing the remote was found to not be sending out a signal on any button press.

This was due to a faulty ultrasonic transducer.  A replacement was fitted and functionality was restored.  Unfortunately when the remote was tested at a distance greater than approximately 10 inches the signal would drop.

Again this was though that maybee a faulty replacement transducer was fitted so another was tried, sadly this did not rectify the range issue.

A component test was carried out and sadly all read fine, therefore it was concluded that it was due to a faulty IC which are not available as spares therefore making a repair non possible.

A replacement remote was provided to the customer.
