Spent batteries damaged terminals

 

This Aiwa remote control arrived safely and on inspection 2 of the battery terminals had signs of corrosion most likely due to a battery leakage.

On adding a power source there was not infra red signal being emmited on any button press.  On opening the control it was found that there was no power reaching the PCB.  The corroded terminals were replaced and the board cleaned with alcohol to remove any contaminants and full functionality was restored
