Remote appears ok but very difficult to make it operate fire.. apparently a common fault..can you help?

 

This fire controller arrived safely and on testing was found to be working but intermittent on occasion.  A common issue on these controllers is that the IR led and Crystal oscillator require replacing.  This was done and the control tested over a period of 3 days without issue.
