Customer's Fault Description
The power switch has stopped working. The volume button on the right side (the worn one) is working, but not sensitive enough.

 

This Denon hi-fi remote arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to have a faulty power button as well as a intermittent volume button.

On opening the problem became clear, there was a contamination around the said buttons that was causing a high resistance (see images).  The pcb was given an alcohol bath to remove the contaminants and full functionality was restored.
