When the batteries are inserted, the handset begins to beep. The control lamp does not light up.

 

Ths caravan mover controller arrived safely from Germany and on testing was confirmed not to be responding from the power button.

On opening there were 2 issues found, the first was that the button array was contaminated under the power button, this contamination was removed but still the problem persisted.  The other issue was a break in the print which was reworked and once done full functionality was restored.
