THE TWO BUTTONS SWITCH ON/ OFF ARE NOT WORKING WELL THE TWO OTHERS ARE OK

 

This fireplace controller arrived safely from Luxembourg and on testing was confirmed to have non responsive power buttons.  On opening the problem was clear, there was some contamination on the main PCB button array from the decomposition of the rubber contacts.  The board was given an alcohol bath to remove all contaminants and the rubber pads were re coated with conductive paint.  This restored full functionality.
