BOSE RC18T1-40 Remote Repair Details

Customers Fault Description : remote is not connecting to tv volume.
This Bose controller arrived safely and on inspection the battery cover was taped in place and also batteries were included. All batteries were dead, when a valid power source was fitted the remote was sending a signal all the time without a button press. This is what has drained the batteries.
On opening the button array was found to have small traces of contaminant on a few of the buttons, effectively shorting the buttons and causing the problem. The PCB was given a alcohol bath to remove the contaminants and full functionality was restored.
A replacement battery cover was also fitted as we had ones spare.
