batteries had leaked. new batteries replaced but no red light on receiver for either up or down signal.
This Faber gas fire remote and receiver arrived safely and on inspection was confirmed to have a corroded battery block due to a battery leakage.
The battery block was replaced in the receiver and full functionality was restored.
