Remote lights up but receiver only picks up signal intermittently. Sounds similar to one of your other mertik repairs

 

This gas fire remote and receiver arrived safely and on testing was found to be intermittent in nature.  This was found to be due to an erratic US transducer, a replacement was fitted and then tested over a few days, full functionality was restored.
