screen does not come on/will not operate the fire, have tried new batteries, old batteries went all furry have cleaned the terminals.
This gas fire controller arrived safely and on inspection was confirmed to have signs of battery corrosion on the battery terminals and was not powering up.
On opening, the corrosion was found to have spread onto the main PCB causing corrosion to various components. Due to the severity of the damage a repair is not possible.
