Customer's Fault Description
Remote suffered leakage damage from old batteries. Contacts cleaned and appeared to work but has since become defective (infra-red checked with camera and contacts checked with multi-meter).

 

This powered subwoofer remote arrived safely and on testing was confirmed not to be transmitting on any button press.  On opening the battery leakage was found to have traversed onto the main PCB and in particular over a few pins of the main IC. this contamination was removed and the print reworked.  Full functionality was restored.
