digital display is not showing properly.resetting is also not working. the remote was dropped on to the floor

 

This central heating control panel arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to have digits missing on its display.  When opened the ribbon cable to the LCD was found to have a micro-fracture in it.  Due to a replacement not being available a mod was carried out to the cable which restored functionality.
