Customer's Fault Description
The unit used to work with the receiving unit behind the ornate metal front of the fire. Now th receiver has to be on the hearth and the remote control will only work when put very close (about an inch away from) the receiving unit.
This Gas fire remote and receiver arrived safely and on testing the remote itself was found not to be transmitting and also the battery block had signs of a battery leakage.
The ultrasonic transducer was replaced in the handset which restored functionality. The battery block was repaired also to prevent future issues.
