Customer's Fault Description
Remote worked intermittently (though can't get it working at all now). Contacts inside a little corroded.
This controller arrived safely and on inspection the battery terminals had signs of corrosion due to leakage. When tested no function could be found.
The terminals were recoated with conductive paint but the problem persisted. On opening the leakage had traversed onto the main PCB and around the main IC. The IC was removed and the print reworked, full functionality was restored.
