Customer's Fault Description
The remote is my parent's for opening a velux window. I don't think the remote has been used for some, and shows no sign of life after changing the batteries. It looks as if the batteries have leaked into the battery compartment previously, and one of the metal battery strips has come loose. There is no obvious sign damage of the PCB, but I haven't dismantled the unit

 

This Velux window control arrived safely and on inspection was confirmed to have a missing battery terminal due to battery corrosion, a replacement terminal was fitted and the remote then sprang back to life.
