Can operate fire manually but remote has given up totally

 

This fireplace control arrived safely and on testing was confirmed not to be transmitting.  On opening 2 issues were found, the first was that there was contamination found over the button array and also the IR led was poorley soldered making an intermittent connection.

The board was cleaned and the IR LED re-soldered correctly, full functionality was restored.
