Working intermittent on power up. Has had new battery installed but still does the same thing.

 

This purpleline control arrived safely and on testing was found to have erratic power on functionality.  The button instead of turning on using 2 presses of the power button, sometimes it would take many attempts before powering up.

On opening there were a few issues, the first was that there was some contamination over the PCB, this was removed by cleaning using alcohol.  The second issue was the power button was reading a resistance when pressed.  This was replaced.

Finally the LED had the usual crack in its base, this was replaced and the hole was opened to prevent the usual future damage due to the hole being a "tight" fit.

Now when tested, every time the power button was double pressed the remote sprang to life as expected.
