Customer's Fault Description
The remote only works within 18" of the amp. The backlight doesnt work. Battery terminals are rusty.

 

This Denon control arrived safely and on testing the remote was very limited on its range as per the customers fault description.  Also the LCD display was not backlit.

On opening the terminals were confirmed to have signs of contamination due to a leakage.  This leakage had amassed over the PCB (see image).

 

The PCB  and button array was given an alcohol bath to remove all contaminants.  The range issue was found due to be the IR LED being faulty, a replacement was fitted and the control then had a good strong range (the testing video shows it working close up due to recording restrictions but the handset was tested and was found to work across a large room area.)

The back-light on the display unfortunately cannot be repaired due to a lack of parts for the led back-light.
