Batteries leaked. left wheel reverse does not work and batteries go flat if left in
This control arrived safely and on inspection there were signs of a battery leakage in the battery compartment as mentioned by the customer.
When the button array was opened the issue became clear. Part of the leakage had traversed through the board and under the button cap for the bottom left function (see image), this was creating a high resistance which was effectively making the button obsolete whilst draining the battery.
The leakage was cleaned up and the button pads given an alcohol bath this restored functionality.
