Water damage. Remote not working

 

This home cinema controller arrived safely and on testing was confirmed not to be responding from any button press. 

On opening it was confirmed that there was some liquid contamination over the pcb (see images), the board was given an alcohol bath to remove the contaminants and the buttons washed down, this restored full functionality.
