Not communicating with machine infa red light does not illuminate even when working

 

This Brake tester (rolling road) remote control arrived safely and on inspection was found to have various buttons missing (these cannot be replaced due to lack of parts and it is usually buttons from non used functions that are effected.  The control was held together by tape and a makeshift battery cover was used.

On testing, no function was found on any button press.  On opening there was a few issues, the first was that the red LED was shattered, this was replaced.  The battery terminals were shorting out, heat-shrink was used to prevent future shorting.

The button array was also contaminated, this was cleaned up along with the pads themselves.

Once tested again full functionality was restored.
