No output on all buttons from the remote

 

This MOT brake roller tester control arrived safely and on inspection the control was held together by clips.

On testing no response was found from any button press. The battery compartment was found to be at fault, on of the pins that press against the battery was visibly shorter due to being broken, this part was shorting the battery when inserted.  This was remedie by bending the erronious pin out of the way.  This restored full functionality.
