Infrared not receiving even with new batteries. Signs of leakage

 

This reote and receiver arrived safely and on inspection the battery block in the receiver did indeed have signs of a batery leakage.  A new battery block was fitted which restored partial functionality, it was then found that hte 40khz crystal was also faulty, a replacement was fitted and full functionality was restored.
