Red light stays on when any button is pressed

 

This Air Con controller arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to be "sticking" on one function when a button was pressed, the led would remain on and no IR would be emitted.

On opening the print had signs of a battery leakage (see image), this had corroded parts of the print trace.  THe print was reworked and also the oscillator was replaced, this restored full functionality.
