Customer's Fault Description
Remote is not functioning. Screen is dead and buttons do not control the shower. The alternate controller is still working and the shower itself works.

 

This Grohe shower controller arrived safely and on adding a power source was confrimed to be dead.  One of the battery terminals had signs of corrosion (most likely from a batter leak).  The corrosion was removed which then allowed the control to power up but the display was flickering.

The device was opened and contamination from liquid was found around various pins of the main display (see image).  This was leaned up but sadly the issue remained.

A component test was carried out but unfortunately it was concluded that the issue was with one of the processors which cannot be obtained as a spare.

This has rendered a repair not possible.

THIS ITEM WAS SCRAPPED 26TH 2 19 AS PER THE CUSTOMERS REQUEST
