Remote and receiver both seem to be working but only at extremely close range of around 1cm as per telephone conversation

 

This fireplace remote and receiver arrived safely and on testing the remote itself was not transmitting.

This is a common issue that was rectified by replacing the Ultrasonic Transducer.
