Sony RM-AAU035 Remote Repair Details

Customers Fault Description : AV unit (have owned from new) no longer responds to the remote at all. Batteries are tested known good, no leaks.
This Sony AV controller arrived safely and on testing was confirmed not to be responding on nay button press.
On opening there was some contamination over parts of the PCB (see image), this was cleaned up but the dead issue remained. The fault was being caused by a faulty oscillator, a replacement was fitted which restored full functionality.
