Nothing works after changing the batteries

 

This Sony Theatre system controller arrived safely and on inspection the battery cover was missing.  When tested no signal was present on any button press. 

The dead fault was found to be due to a faulty IR LED, a replacement was fitted which restored full functionality. 

A replacement battery cover was also provided.
