Customers Fault Description : Fire lights with remote, turns itself off after a minute or so. Have changed batteries, no great improvement. Disconnected the unit and fire works fine by manual control. Handset seems to be ok.
This fireplace receiver arrived safely and on inspection the battery block had signs of a leakage and corrosion.
On opening the corrosion had spread to the main PCB and had started corroding various parts of the print and in particular a few IC's (see image). Sadly due to the amount of damage a repair is not possible.
This item was disposed of on the 6th Oct 2019 as per the customers email request.
