Customer's Fault Description
The Mertik Maxitrol Receiver is not turning on or off from the remote from a distance. The receiver only works if the cover for the gas fireplace is removed and the control is held up close to the receiver.

 

This fire control and receiver arrived safely and on inspection the remote was warped on the back.  No signal was being emitted from the handset itself.  This was due to a faulty US transducer.  A replacement transducer was fitted in the handset which restored full functionality.  The back casing and battery cover was also replaced.

No fault was found with the receiver itself.
