New Batteries-----Infra red does not light and equipment no longer responds.

This Panasonic remote control arrived safely and on testing was confirmed not to be transmitting on any button.

On opening the issue was found to be due to a corroded battery terminal (see image)  This was preventing power from getting to the PCB.  The terminal was cleaned up and re-plated, this restored full functionality.
