Customer's Fault Description
Remote suddenly stopped working (ie gas valve did not open remotely; still works perfectly OK on manual). No light on Receiver, but red light showing on remote handset. New batteries installed; same result.
Handset and Receiver returned to you for checking/repair.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This gazco fire remote and receiver arrived safely and on testing the receiver would not respond to the remotes signal.
On inspection the battery compartment in the receiver had signs of a bad battery leakage.
The battery block was bypassed and the receiver still had an issue whereby it oudlnt respond.
This was eventually found to be due to a faulty oscillator this was replaced as well as the battery block which restored full functionality.
This fault diagnosis was quite extensive as the item would work whenever heated with a soldering iron then go faulty again after a day or so.
