Remote Fixer Repair Response
This fireplace remote and receiver arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to only work on the down channel.
The battery compartment had signs of a severe battery leak, this had traversed onto the main board and destroyed z diode, this was replaced as well as the battery block which restored full functionality.
No fault was found with the remote. Please note that only quality batteries should be used in these devices such as Duracel as battery leakage can totally destroy these items and often does. Do not insert any batteries that were in this item when the terminals were damaged.
