my wife dropped the remote. when we sheke it, we can hear something loose

This Panasonic remote arrived safely and on testing the power button was found to be non responsive.

When rattled there was an audible sound from the control.

When opened there was signs of a battery leakage on the negative terminal.  This was caused some crystallized contaminants to be loose around the inside of the control.

This was all cleaned up and then a new conductive pad was fitted on the power button (the original was worn), this restored full functionality.
