Customer's Fault Description
1st remote will only works when it is right up against the receiver.
<br /><br />
The 2nd remote up button works as normal, but the down button will only work when it is right up against the receiver.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
These two fireplace controllers and receiver arrived safely and on testing one control was sending a very weak signal and the other was intermittently transmitting on the down channel when pressed.
The controller that had the weak signal was cured by replacing the ultrasonic transducer.
The controller with the intermittent down channel was found to have a faulty 40khz crystal. This was replaced which restored full functionality.
No fault was found with the receiver.
