Customers Fault Description : Remote is completely dead; screen is not coming on and none of the buttons are responding.

This Xpelair aircon remote arrived safely and on inspection the battery terminals had signs of a battery leakage / corrosion (see image).
When batteries were added the remote remained dead.
The terminals were etched clean and re-coated using conductive paint, this restored full functionality.
