Customer's Fault Description
I put a new battery in the remote ready to use the fire over the winter. It worked fine but next day the remote didn’t work so I guess the new battery was flat. This has happened with a further 2 batteries so I guess something is draining the batteries.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Nu-Flame remote control arrived safely and on inspection there was a mass of contamination over much of the print (see image).
This was shorting out various components and draining the power source even when not in use, this was cleaned up and the 7133 regulator replaced which restored normal functionality.
