This garage door remote arrived safely and on inspection a couple of things were noticed.  The first was that the battery housing was detached on one of the solder pins, this was rectified by the customer by using some paste to force the housing in place, this works but was a temporary solution.  The housing was soldered firmly back into place.

The button array was peeled back and there was some contamination found over the array, this was cleaned up but the issue of the non functioning third button remained.

A continuity test was carried out and it was found that part of the print had corroded causing an open circuit.  This was reworked and full functionality was restored.
