This electric fire controller arrived safely and on inspection the battery cover was missing.  On testing no signal was being emmited on any button.

On opening there was a mass of liquid over much of the PCB and button araray (see image).  This was cleaned up using alcohol but the issue remained.

A component test was carried out and eventually it was deemed that the IC was the main suspect which sadly had rendered a repair not possible.

Luckily we do have clones which will do all the functions of the original.  Please see image below of the clone.

This page states that a repair was carried out but this is not the case, the payment on this page is for the supply of a clone as a replacement to the faulty item.
