No response after replacing batteries.

This fireplace controller arrived safely and on testing weas confirmed dead.

On opening there was signs of a contamination as the board was "sticky", the usual components were replaced which are nown problems (the oscillator, IR led etc) but sadly this did not remedy the fault.

If was eventually concluded that the problem is with the IC which is unfortunately encased in resin making a replacement IC impossible.

Luckily we do have a clone available, this is a clone for the RCS-01C which has the same functionality except the backlight button.
