One of the buttons works ok (think it is the Up button) but the other one, to turn the fire down doesn't.

This fireplace controller arrived safely and on testing the down button was confirmed not to be transmitting even though the LED lit up.

This was due to a faulty 40khz crystal, this was replaced and full functionality was restored.
