This reclining chair remote arrived safely and on inspection the cable was found to have shorts in it. An attempt was tried to cut the cable back by a few inches but the internal wiring was found to be badly decomposed.
The plug end was cut off and spliced onto a new cable (sadly a fully complete replacement cable is not available as a spare so one had to be made)
