All of the buttons are hard to get a response from. Also, one of the wires from the battery connector has come adrift from the terminal.
Remote Fixer Repair Response

This fireplace remote arrived safely and was found to have faulty buttons and battery cable.  All four buttons and the cable were replaced which restored full functionality.
